I love Burger Week. On from May 28-May 31, it was an excuse to gain a final few pounds before I begrudgingly shed my winter weight, but it’s also developing into a fun Toronto tradition among friends. There are becoming more and more hot burger spots to enjoy around the city each year. However, I don’t know how much better it can get than the burger I tried last night at The Rude Boy on 397 Roncesvalles Ave.
Rude Boy is a creative little diner with a great beer and bourbon selection, fantastic french fries and mouth-watering burgers. Rude Boy prides itself in having all natural, hormone free, grass fed beef that is ground fresh daily and made into perfect size patties for even the most elite burger connoisseurs to drool over.
This week at Rudeboy, the $5.00 special burger week burger was topped with pimento cheese, mustard bbq sauce and southern slaw — and it was nothing short of amazing. The bun was perfectly fluffy and crispy, the meat was juicy and flavourful and those french fries I got on the side were too too good. The fries are triple cooked thick hand cut fries topped with fresh herbs, shaved parmesan and a side of jalapeno ketchum.
Next year on the menu to try is The Passenger at 2968 Dundas St West. They apparently served a naturally raised beef burger with peameal, cheese curds, Dijon mayo, dill pickle, and lettuce on a Boulart ciabatta bun… mmmm.
