Gin Fizz

In my humble opinion, gin is the best of all the spirits. It mixes with almost as many things as vodka, but it’s far classier. I know some will disagree, but maybe this classic cocktail will change their tune. The gin fizz peaked in popularity in the ’50s, and it’s reminiscent of that Mad Men-esque era, when people made really beautiful cocktails at the end of a long day. Here is an easy recipe that is sure to impress.

INGREDIENTS

  • ice
  • 2 oz. gin
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1 tsp powdered sugar
  • carbonated water
  • lemon peel

PREPARATION

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, add the gin, lemon juice, and powdered sugar, then shake well.
  2. Strain into a highball glass over a few ice cubes, and fill the glass with carbonated water.
  3. Garnish with lemon peel, and serve immediately.
