Having friends over for a potluck dinner is a favorite activity for foodies. What could make your next potluck even better though? How about the chance to make a difference in the lives of Canadians by helping them learn how to cook from scratch?
Sobeys is partnering with celebrity chef Jamie Oliver to organize the Better Food for All Potluck Challenge. The event will help to teach Canadians cooking skills through workshops across Canada. This is a great cause as only 18% of Canadians eat a meal each day that is cooked completely from scratch. Think of all the people who are missing out on a delicious home cooked meal. The Potluck Challenge is a chance for foodies like us to help spread a passion for food and cooking to others through doing something we love, and getting involved is easy.
- Plan a potluck and invite your friends between April 28 and May 16.
- Share pictures of your event on Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #PotluckChallenge and #FRD2014.
- For every photo posted to Twitter or Instagram Sobeys will donate $1 to the Cooking Towards Independence Project which helps to fund cooking skills workshops across Canada.
So call up the troops, take out your favorite ingredients, discover new recipes, and cook up a storm. It’s all in the name of friends, food, and making a difference.
